Washington County has a diverse and growing healthcare system. Public health agencies and our local hospital work with private practice physicians, practitioners, dentists, chiropractors and optometrists to provide comprehensive healthcare to our community. Citizens have access to rural health clinics throughout the county as well.

Uniquely, Washington County has an active health coalition because Washington County Memorial Hospital and Great Mines Health Center were chosen in 2021 to participate in the Delta Region Community Health Systems Development Grant (DRCHSD).

A host of community partners contribute to the vision: 

Washington County should have adequate opportunities for its residents to live a healthy lifestyle, have access to wellness and preventative health care, substance abuse prevention and treatment, nutritious foods, safe neighborhoods, parks, trails and recreational activities for all ages and physical abilities.
