The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on October 7, 2025. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss, but a majority of the meeting was spent specifically on important organizational business.
Consulting Director, Rowe, was unable to provide any further update from Archer-Elgin on the water supply study, noting again that the timeline has been pushed back due to other high-priority and deadline specific projects happening in the City of Potosi. The board discussed options for cost-savings on future audits and the required insurance inspection at the Industrial Park. It was also decided that the Board needed to update signature cards for our operating account to include new Board members. Rowe reported that the insurance request for bids was published in September and that she had responded to several requests for information. The director also updated the Board on various tasks related to ongoing strategic planning and spoke about September and October meetings with local manufacturers to show appreciation for Manufacturing Month. Rowe continues to push the workforce objectives for the IDA, hoping to create and take advantage of platforms for exposing students and educators to local opportunities and careers in manufacturing. The IDA will also host manufacturing tours on November 7 for educators, bridging the gap between industry and education in Washington County.
