The board of directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on July 2, 2024. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss.

The Board approved the new Economic Development Policy (EDP) as presented by Consulting Director, Jaclyn Rowe.  The EDP will be formally presented to county governments and the City IDA for collaboration and transparency.  Plans to roll out the EDP also involve the forming of a Business Advisory Committee for the purpose of feedback and input from the business community.  The policy will also be published on the IDA website.

Additionally, Director Rowe confirmed the date of August 6 for a meeting to discuss the potential for a Bioeconomy Development Zone rating through ECOSTRAT.

The Board of Directors approved a $1500 Platinum Sponsorship in support of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce for their fiscal year, 2024/2025.

Lastly, Director Rowe informed the board about the order of events and plans for the upcoming Groundbreaking on August 13, celebrating Purcell Tire & Rubber Company’s expansion in the Washington County Industrial Park.
