The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on October 1, 2024. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss, including the 2023 Audit completion.  The directors were provided with a copy of the audit, and no concerns were found.

Consulting Director, Rowe, provided an update from Archer-Elgin on the water supply study, noting a November timeline.  Other infrastructure and maintenance issues in the industrial park were discussed and the Board approved up to $6000 for those issues to be addressed as needed.  Director Rowe informed the Board about the potential for working alongside the Washington County Ambulance District in an effort to pursue a turning lane on Hwy. 8 for better access to the Industrial Park, specifically at Ameren Dr.

The Board heard a presentation from members of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, Renee Godinez, Board President and Janey Radford, Member.  They provided copies of the Chamber’s Strategic Plan, shared about the progress in membership recruitment, and cast their vision moving forward.  The IDA agreed on the need for both organizations to work together on overlapping objectives.  The Chamber formally requested $500o in support for the 2025 fiscal year. The IDA Board was pleased with the progress the Chamber has made and will consider this approval in their 2025 budget to support the growth of small businesses.
