The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on November 5, 2024. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss, including initial conversations about the 2025 Budget.  Tony Becker of Custom Insurance attended to provide an update on the status of the insurance renewal for IDA properties in the Industrial Park.  The Board requested varying quote options and anticipates a response from the company by the end of the year.

Consulting Director, Rowe, provided an update on her progress in planning for the upcoming Sales Tax for Economic Development campaign.  The Campaign Committee will be recruited, and the first meeting will be held in early to mid-December.  Rowe also presented the Board with the final Industrial Park improvement survey and the Board reviewed.

The Board also learned more from Director Rowe about the “Raise the Bar Assess Program” and executed an agreement to participate. In partnership with Missouri Agricultural and Small Business Development Authority and Missouri Partnership, this program is designed to help economic development leaders build their skill sets and experiences regarding best practices to respond quickly and competitively to business expansion opportunities.  Director Rowe will work closely with Quest Consulting throughout the program, culminating with a 1 1/2 day tour of the county and its’ assets.
