The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on April 14, 2026. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss, but a majority of the meeting was spent on industrial park grounds maintenance, Opporunity Zones 2.0, and a few items of regular business.

The meeting began with a bid opening for grounds maintenance and the industrial park for May 2026 – May 2027 and a bid was awarded.

Director Rowe informed the board about the federal intiative to restructure the Opporuntity Zone incentive for investing captial gains.  The IDA will lead the county in submitting a proposal for an eligible tract of land that encompasses the eastern portion of Potosi, Springtown, and most of Irondale. If selected, the designation will begin in 2028.
