The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority is pleased to announce the release of a 2026 – 2029 STRATEGIC PLAN.
The board worked in collaboration with Consulting Director, Jaclyn Rowe, to update the IDA’s strategic plan and cast a focused vision for the future and sustainability of the Industrial Development Authority.
Serving as a baseline for activities over the next three-to-five years, the Strategic Plan aligns the organization with community initiatives relating to economic development and seeks to advance the future of the IDA according to its mission. Planning work began in June of 2025 and continued through late October with final Board approval in early November 2025.
The following activities and working meetings were held by the Board of Directors to capture ideas and input on the pertinent planning topics:
- June 2025 – Director Rowe reached out to MEDC District 7 members in Perry County to research and gather information on economic development structures and began a review of the 2023-2025 IDA Strategic Plan and SWOT analysis. Key points from her findings were added to a strategic tasks list.
- August 2025 –The Board of Directors scheduled a work session for strategic planning and updated the SWOT analysis to reflect current circumstances.
- September 2025 – Director Rowe compiled a list of potential strategic tasks and prepared an updated version of the Strategic Plan for review by the Board. The work session included a review of completed action items, new action items, current actions, and non-completed action items.
- October 2, 2025 – The Board of Directors and Director Rowe held a work session to review a Draft Strategic Plan and discussed needed edits for final draft.
- October 24 – November 4 – Final review period and approval of 2026-2029 IDA Strategic Plan
- January 1, 2026 – Target date for distribution and publication of 2026-2029 IDA Strategic Plan
