The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on February 3, 2025. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss, but a majority of the meeting was spent on plans for important upcoming events and a few items of regular business.

The Board agreed to annual renewals for website maintenance and discussed the possibility of a TEAP grant (Traffic Engineering Assistance Program) for designing a rail siding.

The 3rd annual “Let’s Grow” event will be summit style on March 26, 2026 at the event space at the Caring Hearts Family Resource Center from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm. The event is in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and business, and county leaders will be invited to attend.  The agenda will include a presentation on the results of the business survey, an opportunity to participate in strategic thinking, a presentation by Director Rowe, and the launch of a new initiative by the IDA called “Industries & Education.” Rowe informed the board on the good progress on the business survey which will continued through March 1.

The board agreed that more time is needed to research funding sources.  Rowe agreed to report back to the board at the April or May annual meeting with a proposal of ideas for additional funding and investments.

Director Rowe updated the board on various tasks from the previous month before moving into executive session.
