A New Face in Economic Development

In November of 2022, the Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority, known as the IDA, approved the hiring of Mrs. Jaclyn Rowe. Rowe joins the organization part-time to serve as its new Consulting Director. She will aid the Board of Directors in working with local, regional and state partners on economic development and job creation.

“Jaclyn brings invaluable knowledge to the IDA with her work throughout our community,” said Donald Thompson, Board President. “Jaclyn is a life-long county resident who also is invested within our business community. With her knowledge of our local community, along with her drive to see our community prosper, she will be a great asset for the IDA and the citizens of Washington County.”

Rowe began her career at the St. Louis Communications Division as a Video Production Specialist. Her experiences include on-air television hosting, small business marketing and international speaking and training. She is the founder of a non-profit ministry and is in her fifteenth year as a local entrepreneur and business owner.

“Working toward economic development and understanding how this field can boost our local economy and uplift our community is extremely rewarding. Our former executive director worked hard to increase the economic capacity of our county and because of her efforts over the last thirteen years, our community is poised for growth,” said Rowe. “My aim is to communicate our mission and activities effectively, building confidence and generating excitement among local stakeholders and prospects. If I can be helpful to our community — my community — then I am grateful for the opportunity.”

In her new position, Rowe will play a crucial role in attracting companies to Washington County, communicating with the public and supporting established businesses. She joins the IDA during a season of transition with meaningful accomplishments on the books and tremendous challenges ahead.

Rowe holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications, emphasis in Public Relations and Broadcasting and a Writing Certificate in English from Missouri Baptist University.
