the Industry Enhancement Grant Program, awarding up to $10,000 in a 50/50 matching grant, beginning July 1, 2023 through October 11, 2023.  Washington County manufacturers desiring to purchase equipment for the production of goods, commodities, a component which would enhance current production or desiring to provide a new service from a production component may be eligible to apply.  The WCIDA funds this program through the Southeast Economic Development Fund and applications will be processed, approved and administered by the SEED$ GRANT committee. Multiple businesses may be selected each cycle depending on funding availability and the quality of submissions.

Any business wishing to apply must review and agree to all program guidelines and submit an application. Eligible businesses are those seeking funding for manufacturing purposes who can demonstrate how an equipment or service purchase may lead to business growth, job creation or economic impact. Nonprofits and governmental entities are not eligible. Businesses can apply once per location per calendar year. Ineligible expenses include: operating costs, inventory, building repairs, vehicles, marketing and any items not used for production.

Round 1 of 4 for this grant opportunity is according to this cycle:

Application submissions open – July 1 through October 11

Submissions closed for review – October 12 through October 18

Award Deadline – October 31, 2023

Grant awards will be announced in the last week of October.

The purpose of this grant is to improve the economic prosperity of Washington County by assisting industries in production components to produce or enhance a product. The end goal is sustaining and growing individual businesses in Washington County.
