The Board of Directors for the Washington County Industrial Development Authority met on November 4, 2025. The board had a variety of topics and projects to discuss, but a majority of the meeting was spent specifically on end-of-year business and the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan.
Consulting Director, Rowe, updated the board on various tasks from the previous month. The main event of the meeting was the approval of the 2026-2029 Strategic Plan for the organization. The plan has been published on the IDA website here: Strategic Plan. Rowe continues to push the workforce objectives for the IDA, hoping to create and take advantage of platforms for exposing students and educators to local opportunities and careers in manufacturing. The IDA will also host manufacturing tours on November 7 for educators, bridging the gap between industry and education in Washington County with additional meetings planned with superintendents and career counselors. Additionally, the board reviewed and discussed a preliminary 2026 budget. The IDA will need to make adjustments to investments and reduce spending as sales tax revenue is expected to fall to $0.00 in 2026. Insurance renewals for the IDA owned properties in the Industrial Park will be reviewed at the December meeting.
